What is the difference between an Insurance Agent and an Insurance Broker?

The key difference is an Insurance Agent typically works for one company. Commonly known as a Captive Agent, they pay a good deal of money to work for a company, so they only sell insurance policies for that specific company. This limits the consumer’s options to compare products.

An Insurance Broker maintains a distributer relationship with multiple insurance companies which, in turn, allow the availability of many different types of insurance products. So, the credentials of a broker permit them to compare several different policies that are available on the market. Brokers have to stay updated on multiple companies to be able to provide clients with reliable information to make sure the client’s needs are met.

Here at Dioguardi Insurance, we are Insurance Brokers who will not only work extremely hard for you, but we’ll do it at the best price along with A+ Service.
